Q&A:
I have 4 x 2TB Hard Drives installed in my Poweredge R510 in a Raid 5 Configuration. I'm able to see
the full raid volume in the raid utility in the bios. However, when I installed Server 2008 R2 I can only
see 1.9TB in the disk manager. I can see the other 3TB as unallocated and windows will now allow me to
allocate the storage. How can I fix this?
Unfortunatley you will have to reinstall your operating system. Prior to installing the operating system you'll have to
switch the bios setting to UFEI. This will allow you to see the full raid volume in Server 2008 R2.
How do I access the access a more robust version of the system services?
If you not have the Drac 6 Remote Access installed you will see a watered down version of the system services. We recommend
upgrading to the Drac 6 Remote Access so you can utilize all of the premium features when installing your opterating system
or doing other updates.
Can I load Windows Server 2016 on an R510 Server?
We have successfully loaded Windows Server 2016 on a Poweredge R510 Server with an H700 Controller. We had to update the bios and OS deployment before we could successfully load Server 2016.
